What do you understand by the word end time?
- Definition:
End: The terminal point of something in space or time
End time: The time immediately preceding the end of life on earth
and the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
End time: Is a period we are living now.
End times is a period before Christ’s return with predicted events, signs, including the great tribulation and the return of Christ.
A number of things happened in the period of end time which we are now: calamity, doom, final judgment, devastation.
In the period of end time(end of ages), we experience perilous time (2 Tim 3:1-15).
2 Timothy 3:1-5 “This know also that in the last days, perilous time shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves; covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parent, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breaker, false accusers, in-continent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitor, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having form of godliness, but denying the power there of, from such turn away”
The Holy scripture has a lot to say about the end times, nearly every book of the Holy scripture contains prophecies regarding the end times.
- The beginning of the end times
The earliest Christians dated the beginning of the end times to be the coming of Jesus Christ (birth of Jesus, death of Jesus and resurrection of Jesus Christ).
The birth of Jesus (The prophecy of the conception of Jesus)
(Luke 1:26-35). Naming of Jesus (Luke 2:21-22)
The Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus as predicted by the Angel of God and He was so named Jesus (Luke 2:21-22).
The death of Jesus Christ (Matthew 27:1-66)
Simon of Cyrene was forced by soldier to carry the cross of Jesus Christ (Matthew 27:32). Jesus was crucified on the cross of calvary, the veil of the temple was rent into two (Matt 27:51), Joseph of Arimathea came and buried Jesus Christ in his own sepulcher(Matt 27:57).
The resurrection of Jesus Christ(Matthew 28:1-10)
Has said by Jesus, in the early morning on the third day, which is the first day of the week. The Angel came and rolled away the stone from the sepulcher and Jesus Christ resurrected and went to heaven, He appeared unto the women who came to anoint him in the sepulcher telling them He has risen from the death, they should go and tell His disciples to go and wait for Him in Galilee, there they will see Him.
They Holy scripture generally and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:1-30 speaks about what the children of God will experience before Christ will return to the earth the second time which is the rapture.
However, Jesus Christ informed His disciples in the gospel message that He would be crucified and on the third day He will resurrect.
- Signs of the end times(Matthew 24:1-30)
The disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ asked Him about the signs of the end times, and He gave them prophetic signs to be watchful and be ready.
Matthew 24:1-15
Among the prophetic signs Jesus Christ gave to His disciples is the temple of Solomon which has been demolished, many false prophet has risen, there have been first world war and second world war, national wars, wars between nations, many nations have experienced serious famine, earthquake, many servants of God have been killed, Anti- Christ has risen in our society.
- The Holy scripture about the end times battles(Ezekiel 38:1-23)
God’s plan for the end times battles
Prophet Ezekiel in Ezekiel chapter 38 and 39 prophetically presented what will happen towards the end of the times or end of ages.
Brethren, God’s plan for this end times was well explained by prophet Ezekiel in the two chapters mentioned above, this involved great battle, the nations that will involved in the battle and Jehovah ultimate victory in the battle.
The nations mentioned that will be involved in this battle are Gog, Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Persia, Gomer and Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:1-7).
However, this nations as we know them in the old testament may not be in existence with the same names in this generation, but they represents the various nations of the world today that may be involved in the great battle or war.
This battle or war is between light and darkness of this world and it is obvious that when light shinneth, darkness must disappear. The fighting wonders of God in the battle for His children will manifest.
A scriptural assessment of this battles or war reveals that God will allow it to happen to bring about the fulfillment of His promise to His children and to bring about the establishment of His Kingdom on earth in the end of age.
Jehovah God is completely in control of the events, directing the actions of the nations that are involved in the battle and determined the outcome of the battle.
- What follows the end times battles (Ezekiel 39:1-29)
- There will be cleansing and restoration
- The land will be cleansed from the defilement of the battle
- The people are restored back to their lands.
- God’s presence will dwell with His people as He promised.
6. God’s goal for the end time battle
1. The establishment of the kingdom of God on earth; A kingdom
where peace and righteousness will reign.
2. The people of God will live in harmony with him while walking
with Him in His presence.
3. God will demonstrate His love for his people.
4. God is a winner all the time, He has a plan, hope and love for
His people.
The central theme of this piece is to let you know that the next
events the world is expecting now is the rapture. The whole
essence of the signs of the end time is that it’s pointing to the
second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Before you can be a
partaker of the established Kingdom of God on earth , you must
first have gone in the rapture,
The question then is; Are you ready for the rapture? If not,
you need to do the needful today by accepting Jesus Christ as
your personal Lord and savior, confessing and forsaking your
sin must also follow.
This will enable you to be a candidate for the rapture as well as
living with God when He eventually establishes it’s Kingdom on
earth after the end time battle.
