1. Introduction:
Divine Restoration:
Is the act of God returning something to its original, intended state after it has been lost, stolen or broken.
Divine restoration also represent God’s power to heal, renew and re-establish.
Furthermore, divine restoration can be explained as God’s way of showing his mercy and reaffirming His covenant with His people.
Brethren, no matter what has been lost or stolen, God can restore it in greater measure. Trust in His promises, obey His instructions and praise him even in the face of adversity.
This process of divine restoration includes individual readiness to seek and embrace these changes.
Divine restoration involves what has been lost in the area of health, glory, through spiritual connection, disobedient and faith.
Achieving divine restoration
Return to God in faith, prayer and praise.
Spiritual discipline and faith building are necessary for restoration to take place.
2. Biblical Basis of Restoration
Basically, we have the following types of restoration
- Physical restoration: This involves the restoration of good health, from illness, sickness, diseases and the wholeness of the physical body. The weak regaining strength. God’s restoration often involves the physical and material aspects of life, such as health, prosperity, and positions that might have been lost. An example can be seen with Job, who experienced significant losses but was eventually restored: “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job…also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before” (Job 42:10 KJV)
This restoration is not limited to physical wealth or health; it encompasses peace, happiness, and fulfillment too. God’s restoration can surpass our expectations, offering more than we initially possessed before the loss.
- Spiritual restoration: This involves spiritual renewal of individual child of God which includes being cleansed and renewed by the grace of God.
Spiritual restoration involves re-establishing a person’s relationship with God and bringing them back to a state of spiritual health, often leading to a stronger faith and a more profound relationship with Him. Psalm 23:3 (KJV) illustrates this well: “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
The Bible teaches that restoration is attainable through repentance and God’s mercy. The story of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32) is an excellent example of spiritual restoration, illustrating the forgiving nature of God and His willingness to accept and restore a repentant sinner.
- Emotional restoration: This involves turning away from all forms of emotional wounds, injuries, bitterness, anger and various forms of guilt.
- Financial restoration: This involves people who were at one time financial comfortable but due to one reason or the other the financial position dropped. Basically, financially restoration involves bringing back of financial resources, business and properties.
- Relationship restoration: This may involves the restoration of friends, marriages, neighbor, relations etc.
- Family restoration: This involves the Christian family who for one reason or another backslide and turn against God to serve idol but later realize their mistakes or error and return to fear and obey God.
3. Guide to Divine Restoration
This has to do with what someone needs to do in- order to obtain divine restoration.
- Repent and return unto God: For someone desiring or pursue divine restoration, it is necessary that he should repent and be converted to enable him attract divine restoration (Acts 3:19).
- Spirituality and Faith: Spiritual development and having faith in God is necessary for someone to obtain divine restoration, one also need to study the word of God on daily basis (Joshua 1:8).
- Praise and worship: Generally, the children of God should learn and practice how to praise God on daily basis in order to activate restoration of what has been lost in ones life, in carrier and family.
- Believe in God: The foundation of children of God is to believe in God and maintain a good relationship with him (2 Chronicle 20:20)
- Walk with God faithfully (Prov 8:32).
- One must fear and obey God in order to maintain spiritual responsibility with God (Eccl 12:13)
- Absolute trust in God: Any one that is pursue divine restoration must have absolute trust and acknowledge Jehovah God (Prov 3:-6)
- Have full knowledge of the promise of God regarding to restoration and ask for these promises of God with a pure heart of purpose and determination (2 Chronicle 7:14)
- Call on Jehovah God and confess and forsake same, The Lord says call upon me and I will answer you (Jer 33:3)
- The reward (benefit) of restoration
- Abundance return of what was lost (Joel 2:26), In restoration, God usually restore what was lost.
- God replace shame with honor in restoration (Isaiah 61:7)
- In restoration, God brings both physical and spiritual strength to the beneficiary (Isaiah 40:31).
- Generally, restoration of all areas brings both joy and happiness to the beneficiary to the relations and friends(Psalm 126:1-3)
- Divine restoration brings shame and disgrace to the enemies of the beneficiary.
- Hindrance to divine restoration
Brethren, the children of God should endeavor to do away with anything that will stop them from operating in the presence of God continually to carry out their daily activities in the presence
- They are must be genuine repentance, without it you can not obtain divine restoration for all has sinned and come short the glory of God. (Rom 3:23).
- Lack of Faith (James 1:6-8): Having no faith or believe in God can not allow you to obtain divine restoration.
- Lack of patience which leads to walking contrary to the will of God (Gn 16:1-4)- Sarai requesting her husband to go into adultery with the housemaid.
- Negative utterance, doubt and fear hinders divine restoration (prov 18:21).
- Failure to seek God will not allow someone to hook on to the promise of God (2 Chronicles 7:14, matt 6:33).
6. The Pathway to Restoration
Restoration is an essential aspect of the Christian faith, offering believers hope for renewal and healing of all that has been lost or damaged. God’s promises are assured for those who believe, repent and seek His divine intervention.
His methods may be unforeseen, and the timing may test our patience; however, when God restores, He exceed human expectation every time. Our faith should stand on his promises, knowing that divine restoration is not only possible but guaranteed in His Word.

Brethren, divine restoration is a way in which God fulfill his promises to His children.

- Restoration of Job (Job 42:10-17)
FEAR AND OBEY GOD
